At the same time the Atmel ICE tool disappears from the Available Tools Window While this is happening the tool is still shown as being available and connected BUT when the driver installation is shown complete the Unknown Device disappears from the device manager window and Atmel-ICE Data Gateway suddenly appears in Device manager under Microchip Tools. The icon at the bottom of the screen shows that the driver for the plugged in hardware is being installed. Atmel-ICE Data Gateway appears under Unknown Devices in device manager window. Immediately after plugging in ICE a USB input device is added under Human Interface Devices and Atmel ICE appears as a tool in the Available Tools window. On my Windows 7 computer, after the complete uninstall (including Visual Studio 2015 (isolated) and clearing registries) and reinstalling Atmel Studio 7 heres what happens: Have seen these in threads but a complete list would be nice Is there any pdf, html, etc list of all of the Command Prompt" commands such as atfw -1, atfw - t, etc. Driver installations seem to be wide and varied but I guess that involves which tool is being installed. I am learning more but will copy info from all relevant threads in the future since I am not the only one with this problem. Regardless, in the future I will keep better notes after each driver change, installation, update, etc.

That is why I would like to verify locations of all necessary drivers from someone that ICE is working in Windows 7 as at least a start to my problem.

The AS7 pdf manual under Chapter 2.4.4 'No Tool Recognized by Atmel Studio." mentions going into Device Manager and choosing "Add Legacy Hardware" but this mentions problems with the Jungo Driver which is not found in device manager now and I think that you said was no longer needed for Atmel-ICE. but can't locate all of those threads now but I am looking. I have seen some threads concerning the "Command Prompt" tool to check and try to locate where essential drivers, etc.

If AS7 is not recognizing ICE in View "Available Atmel Tools" OR selecting "Device Programming" then it can't update automatically. Since there seems to be quite a few threads on this topic it seems like Microchip should put a little more effort into either the software, hardware, or firmware!!!!!! That's about all the info I can think of to give.
Now Jungo Connectivity IS NOT found in Device Manager for some reason but it has been in the past? However when it was there ICE was still not recognized.
